Supermicro X10SLM and RAM

I was looking at upgrading my NAS with a X10SLM and a Celeron something-or-other. The price/specs look right for me, but the reviews say it's very picky with RAM.

Supermicro doesn't help - they don't have a compatibility list, just a couple "certified" modules that are 2-3x the price of anything normal.

I have some ECC DDR3-1066. Axiom branded (16290-0025568 is written on the stickers). Do you think that would work, or do I need to get something newer/fancier? (It's slower than what Supermicro specifies, but I'm not sure if that matters - desktop boards are usually smart enough to downclock, but are servers?)

Recommendations welcome.
