Has anyone used these cases? They are expensive, about $175. It comes witha 300W power supply a 92mm front intake and a 92mm exhaust. It also has locations for seven more fans. Go to supermicro.com to look!

The Addtronics 830 and 1030 are nice. However, I don't think they will hold as many fans. Or maybe a 3dfxcool Tornado 2000?

Jumpem,

I have the case but I swapped the stock PS when I sold my old case to a friend and kept my old PC Power & Cooling Turbo 400 ATX not knowing that my PS wasn't even ATX v2.0+ :( Anyways, the case comes with a 92mm exhaust and three 80mm front fan mounts for intakes as well as 2 80mm fan mounts on each side of the drives. The 92mm fan on the side doesn't intake air. It just blows on the top portion of the motherboard or by default, the CPU/HS area since there is no intake holes on the left door panel. There is also a mount on the backboard right next to the ATX I/O in back of the CPU for a 60mm fan.

the addtronics 7896 has at least 7 places for fans, i'm too lazy to count, but whatever floats you boat.

good desc, allmighty....

300WPS is a Sparkle, on the amd recomended list. its incredibly heavy, the thickest panels ive ever seen. VERY nicely built, no rough edges, lots of rivets to keep the case solid, comes with all the mounting hardware you'd ever need. could use an intrusion switch tho, but thats nothing. all card/drive case openings are not the ply-outs, but screwed-in.

Im in the middle of building a rig in this case...first thing i did was cut a hole for a 120 and a 92 in the front, instead of the 80's...and cut free the stamped metal guard in the rear 92mm spot. those things can cut circulation by half, before the airstream gets into the case.

Ive used a lot of cheap cases before, this is a great step up. itll last thru numerous new rigs..definately an investment, thats how i see it. should be a good one. In terms of why i chose the 750a, well, no real reason. its a classic, theres a number of like cases out there, it fit my needs, i just happened to get this one.

I got one. Before you buy it make sure it will fit in your room because it is big. Like a monalith. :D
It is very well built and has a huge number of places to put fans. Plenty of drive bays, there is even a 5.25" bay at the top rear (hidden). It only has one exposed 3.5" bay though. Very solid construction and roomy. Once I got around to rounding my cables the case feels empty inside. :p
Overall, its nice but if your interested in this case save a few bucks and get the cheaper 750 model, or whatever the equivalent at Addtronics is.

I have this case (AC760-400)and i must say i am verry happy with it.
The AC760 comes with an redundant cooling PSU. So if one fan breaks down he other one takes over. Do u realy need this? well, no but its a nice feature.
Standard cooling is already very good. I put in an extra 3,5 bracket wich gives me more space for hdd's. The case itself and the standard fans are all high quality stuff. Okay it is a little pricey but hey, this case will meet your upgrading needs for some time to come. A good investment i would say. The bad thing is that it is a bit noisy.

Jumpem, Addtronics makes the cases for Supermicro. I am currently using the 7896A and just love it. Got mine direct from them, but next time will go through Jim Hansen for better prices. Bought it without a power supply and got an Enermax 350 from http://www.compucheap.com/ Get the 7896A /Enermax and you will not regret it.......

I have that case and am very happy with it. Two bad points are once you load it up with fans it's a little loud, might want to go with quite fans, and its heavy for carrying to LAN parties. :D

beloved patriot,

Actually, the Sparkle 300Watt PS is on the SC750A. The SC760A has a different brand 300Watt PS that has a second thermal backup redudant fan as they call it. What are the requirements for a PS to be on the AMD recommended list? Is ATX 2.03 basically the same thing? I'm still trying to figure out which current motherboards would not work with ATX 1.00 and where ATX 2.03 differs.
The case doesn't actually tell you about the 60mm backboard exhaust behind the CPU next to the ATX I/O where you can add a fan. There seems to be a lack of exhaust since there are more intakes on this case than one can figure out :)

I have to really learn how to cut holes for fans in the front on this thing.
