Hi Guys,
I am looking for a Dual PIII 933 (Coppermine) for home and had gone to Fry's (for those not in the Bay Area it is one of the best electronics store in the region).

They only had Supermicro 370DLE (specs can be found here) which could fit my requirments.

I have never heard of Supermicro before and wanted to find out how reliable they are, etc?

Any ideas folks?

Thanks,
Amit

Yep. They are big for the server boards. We use them occasioanlly at the shop for machines and they work flawlessly.

Fry's has good prices but the store is just totally suck. If you goto the motherboard section you might see a box that is all beat up, the seals broken..etc. And there is a sticker saying it was returned but still under warranty and all that BS. So I am positive when you return something they just put that sticker on a throw it back on the shelf. Their customer service is so f*cked up.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for all your input!

I agree the service and the "knowledge" in Frys sucks - big time but again IF you go to Fry's you SHOULD know what you want ;o).

And surprise surprise all the motherboards I found in Fry's were new and in mint condition. I wemt to the one in Sunnyvale (off El Camino).

Based on your suggestion I think I will go in for this board.

Thanks fellows - you guys have been a BIG help :D.

Regards,
Amit.

I used to love SuperMicro (even though I BBQ one. I'll post pics as soon as I scan them :)). I haven't used one lately, but I am very happy with the ones a did.

BTW: They burn like crap. Water burns about as well as they do. (Disclaimer: It is illegal to burn PCBs in the United States :()
