Supermicro case compatibilty with dual nehalem motherboard

Hi,

I plan to buy a Supermicro case to build a dual nehalem (E5520) server. I saw that the majority of dual nehalem board have have 2 8-pin connector in addition of the standard 24-pin.
Can someone tell me if this case can handle a board with 2 8-pin connector ?

supermicro SC743TQ-865B chassis

supermicro X8DTi motherboard
http://www.supermicro.com/prod...ard/QPI/5500/X8DTi.cfm

It seems to be very hard to get the detail specs (all the connectors) of the power supply of this case. Anyone know where to get it ?

Thanks
Dany

on the X8Dti product page, it list the sc743TQ-865B chassis as optimize chassis for that motherboard. That SC743TQ-865 comes with the supermicro PWS-865-PQ powersupply. Which according to supermicro is a 865 watt power supply. It should run that motherboard, but it would be nice supermicro listed the full specs for the powersupply.

Thank you for the reply.
If there's only 1 8-pin EPS 12v connector, what is the best way to get the second one ?
Is there better to use a 8-pin EPS12V splitter (1X8-pin to 2X8-pin) or a molex (4-pin standard) to 8-pin EPS12V converter ?

Thx

I wouldnt recommend using any kind of splitter. who knows what may happen if you use the 8 pin splitter to power both 8pin 12v connectors.

One thing I would recommend is looking at one of the server cases that come with either the dual or triple redundant power supplies. such as the supermicro 745TQ-R800 or the 743TQ-R760 which is the same case as the sc745TQ-865B, but just instead with a 760 watts triple redunant power supply
