Maybe she'll think twice next time before she rudely tries to slide through a line where she does not belong. No doubt she also wrote a check that had to be verified by telephone.

<< Morgan has a history of missing court appearances for check larceny, police said. >>

Yet another reason why repeat offenders should be locked up :|

Crazy woman.

But it pisses me off when people try to get an exception made for them in the express lane.

no.. 1 or 2 items extra is NOT FCKING OKAY! It's so damn frustrating when you want to get a damn coke and snickers bar and you hafta wait for some nimwit that's buying 13 items... to me, express lines should be 7 items or less.. Snacks/one-time meals are ususally never more than 7.. Go lucky 7s.

I swear, people need to seriously chill out. Think about how insignificant this is in the scheme of things. Get a grip!!!

So hit a 7-11 instead of a grocery store for a coke and candy bar.

I know what this is like, I work in an express check out a couple days a week at the grocery store I work at. Ussually though, it is people getting mad at me not the person with the extra items. It is a 15 items or less lane, but I always have people wanting to come through with baskets of stuff. Yes, baskets, I'm talking 100 items or more. There are 14 check stands, and 4 are express lanes, sometimes all the other lanes get backed up and the express lanes are open, and people are like " I see your just standing there, can I come through your line, I don't have too many items over" or "there are too long of lines, I'm coming through here". Sometimes I give in, and sure enough five people with 1 or 2 things get right in line behind them and get upset becuase they have to wait longer. And then guess what happens, the customer turns around and says " Oh, he said I could come through here". It ticks me off!!!!! I really don't care how many items people have becuase I am going to be there for the next however many hours anyway, but I don't like getting the blame when people are inconsiderate to begin with. And another think for all those large cart express runners out there: It is not faster to go through express with a basket of groceries even if you have to wait behind one other person in a regular checkstand!!! There is only one person in express who has to scan AND bag your stuff, where as a regular check stand ussually has a checker and a bagger working together. To make matters worse, there is not enough space to put all the groceries on the counter and the bagged groceries pile up becuase the cart still has suff in it. You don't have enough room to sort the groceries so you get your frozen stuff mixed in with your cereal and so on. My advice is be considerate in line, whether you are behind some one with more than the specified amount of items or you have to go to a regular check stand, an extra 2 or 3 minutes is not going to kill you.

I know what you're thinking: "Do I have 12 items, or only 13?" Well, to tell you the truth in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But, being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya punk?

Take a 12 item limit check out.

Girl 1: Can I get through with 2 items over?
Guy 1: If you let her through with 2 items over, can't you let me through with one item more than her?
Guy 2: If you let Guy 1 through with one item more than her, can't you let me through with one item more than him?
yada yada yada....

Where do you stop? Is it Girl 1 but not Guy 1, or Guy 1 but not Guy 2, or Guy 2 but not Guy 3? Or do you let Guy X through with X-14 items in because he has one more item than Guy X-1?

If you decide to let someone through with 14 items but not 15, why not make it a 14 item max checkout?

bah, the supermarket doesn't enforce it and no one really cares, except for, apparently, this one woman who should probably be locked up. assault for having 1 extra item in an express lane?

i try to avoid checkout lines ever since they put in the self check-out things at the local gro' sto'

anyhow, 10 items is okay, but i don't count the impulse items next to the register. if i get in line with 10, then grab a coke and gum from next to the line, i'm still at 10 items, damnit.

That's pretty screwed-up!

But it CAN be pretty damn annoying when someone chooses to ignore the rules! I have been few times in the express lane (6 items or less if I remember correctly), buying a bottle of coke or something. And few times (usually an older woman) in front of me has had something like 12-20 items. That just pisses me off! She can clearly see that it's meant for people who don't buy much!

It seems to me that if the dumb ass b1tch didn't want a confrontation she should not have used words which almost always mean "let's step outside" without exactly saying as much. I mean if someone said to me "you got a problem" i'd think they were calling me on too. She should not have gotten an attitude when she was in the wrong. She should have calmly appologized and walked away, but instead she played the role of the tough girl and was not in a position to back it up.

I feel a bit bad and don't condone that type of behavior but come on, it's almost expected nowadays so don't cause yourself undue harm. Keep your mouth shut when you don't know what someone else is capable of.
