Superman Returns (May contain spoilers, but there isn't really anything to spoil)

I've seen my fair share of bad movies this year. This includes movies like ultra violet, night watch...etc. But I spent almost 3 hours yesterday watching superman fly around with NO PLOT. It doesn't build up to much and nothing much happens. Lex Luthor was also VERY weak. He seemed almost pathetic. Then the movie just ended. WTH was that? Did any of you like the movie? Maybe I missed something.

I have only heard great things about this movie I am going to see it tonight, btw nacho libre is the worst movie ever..............except for my 5 yr old brother he actually liked it.

I had high hopes of Xmen 3 and it bombed, after that I lowered my expectations to Superman Returns.

Just hope Spiderman 3 will be good.

Wait.. so Ultra Violet is better than Superman Returns? 😕

The action scene in the beginning was the ONLY watchable part of Ultra Violet. It was VERY BAD but short, but Superman was BAD and dragged on with nothing eventful happening (nothing exciting).

I got more excited for the spiderman 3 trailer than throughout the whole movie. I hope they do that well, the other 2 were pretty entertaining. Now that they are actually doing venom (childhood favorite).

So the whole saving the airplane scene wasn't exciting?

meh

I am still going to watch it.

What is funny is that on the day of the movie coming out I went over to a friends house. I eneded up wearing an old Superman tshirt to their house as a gag. 😉 They wanted to go see "Prairie Home Companion" (good movie BTW if you like the radio show, but Garrison Kealer should stick to radio). I got a really weird look buying the ticket from the booth by the cahier when she saw that I was going to watch a "Prairie Home Companion" while wearing a Superman tshirt. 😛 😉

The fact that Superman can only be defeated by one entity (kryptonite) makes for very uninteresting and repetitive stories. Kind of like watching a Hulk Hogan wrestling match. I saw the movie on Sat and kind of agree with the OP.

It's definitely not a horrible movie but I give it a definite "meh". It's funny, not ONCE in the entire movie does he throw a punch or a kick. It's him just standing there or blocking things from falling on people. And yeah the ending was completely lame. I guess people expected different things from that movie. There was a lot of cheering during the action scenes tho, something you don't see very often... but then again, it IS Superman. Batman Begins is by FAR still my favorite recent superhero movie.

The day I went to see it, I wore the Spider-man shirt that's black with a giant white spider on the front and back; the ticket taker told me I'd enjoy the trailer for Spider-man 3 (which I had already seen on the net), and one of the ushers after the movie told me he really respected me for wearing a Spider-man shirt to the opening day of the new Superman movie 😀

Was it really necessary for Superman to have a bastard son in the movie?

wtf? serious? way to screw up lore/canon

I felt bad for cyclops when it was confirmed that it wasn't his son. OWNED

what do you guys expect from these movies. Its not like somebody had a great idea for a script. THe thought process was more like this. Studio Execs want money decide lets milk superman some more. Get a writer to make a script where he flys around and stuff. We'll hype it to the extreme as a summer blockbuster. The first weekend will bring in tons of dough before everyone realizes the movie really sucks

Same for X-Men 3, Ultra violet just sucked.

Big Budget action movies are great but we can only take so many of them. There has to be at least a few movies with substance in between.
