Hey people,
I've been wondering for a while the following question, and I was curious if anyone knew the answer:

Superman's Suit:

Premise:
Superman's suit, as we know is made from the blanket he was wrapped in in a baby when he landed on earth

Superman's suit is also impervious to damage, as it is kryptonion, so cannot be damaged my bullets etc, but can be damaged by things from krypton.

Now here's my question:

If superman's suit cannot be damaged by things on earth how did superman create the suit from the original blanket? Unless he happened to have a kryptonian pair of scissors and sewing kit...

Most of my knowlege on superman comes from films, so I was wondering if there are some fans of the comics out there with the answer. Thanks in advance. 🙂

I like how Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman addressed this. In that series, Superman's body produces a 'field of energy' that makes anything with a few millimeters of his skin impervious, a second skin. His costume was made by his mother from pieces of the blanket, but the blanket itself is just regular synthetic cloth.

If I am remembering correctly: Martha Kent had Clark create a needle from the spaceship and he used his heat vision to cut the thread when she needed it cut. He also made the lenses for his glasses form the windhsield of the rocket. Earth glass metled when he used his heat vision when in 'Clark' mode.

Tactile telekinesis is the explanation. Anything that Superman decided to wear would potentially have the same effect. Alternate universe versions of Superman could take this a step further as full blown telekinesis, for example Superman One Million was able to hold an entire galaxy in place from moving.

When you have a question about how superman does something, the answer is to just add yet another power to the guy who already has to many powers.

The real question is, how come no one bothered to ask him why he has his underwear on the outside of his pants.

And why is it that he never has any facial hair? Does he just put the heat vision on a really low level and reflect it off the mirror to shave himself? This only answers questions with more questions…

Yes. This was shown in a movie.

Does he have super sperm which, if unleashed inside a woman (or man), would it blow their head clean off their shoulders?
