I was watching it earlier today and when he goes back to the big boat and blows all the oil in, then seals the oil back with his heat vision, shouldn't it have exploded?
 
not necessarily. oil in its raw form is way different than how you expect gasoline to react. i suppose it would probably blow up, but maybe not.

when general zod used his heat vision on the diesel tanker in Supeman II it didnt blow up either...
 
when they drill a formation, the heat generated by drill bits (although cooled by mud) should ignite everything too, right? nope

only gas is burned off on a rig

Yeah. I wasn't too sure if crude oil was as flammable as gasoline, that's why I asked. I now also remember Superman IV. Ugh! What's with the blonde hair clone?
