I got it for my son today (*cough*) and was really suprised at how good it was! THIS is what the movie should have been like! I was shocked to hear cursing and see blood/death in an animated movie though- until I noticed it was rated PG-13. We loved it- my son was going "WHOAAA!!!!" during the whole movie :)

I'd give it 4 ****

It has gotten very good reviews...even from uncomprising die-hard fans.

The movie is an only for sale item at Blockbuster, so forget about renting it.

Yeah, they really shortened the novel's story, but they had to in order to fit everything in. They should have made this a 3 parter though.

My one gripe is Superman has these stupid "cheekbone" lines on his face, and they're REALLY odd looking. It's all I could fixate on whenever I saw him.

Also, Lex Luthor is drawn like he's a little shrimpy guy. However, he's so nasty he grows on you :)

There also some "implied" sex in the movie, so if you have young'uns, keep that in mind.

Looks pretty cool. Does it cover that stupid crap with the 4 fake Supermans? I thought I saw him in the suit he wears when he comes back from wherever the hell he was.

Just saw that tonight. I thought it was pretty damn good for an animated superhero movie. I would definitely watch it again. It also emitted a pretty strong sense of emotion at certain scenes.

I may end up having to download this via Xbox Live. Blockbuster isn't renting it in-stores (WTF?) and it is listed as "Long Wait" on Blockbuster Online.

It only has one fake Superman....with a twist :) The "black" suit is for absorbing yellow sunlight. Like I said, they streamlined the script for it to fit into a 70 minute feature.

I bought the DVD yesterday but haven't gotten the chance to watch it yet. BTW, the Doomsday storyline was the beginning of the end for my interest in comic books. I started to get tired of all the marketing with multiple covers and stuff in the comic book industry. I just wanted good stories and art but instead I started to feel that marketing gimmicks was the main emphasis.

That was almost the end of the comic book industry as well. It almost died in the mid-90s.

the movie was good, but the storyline was meh. i thought it was going to be a movie with Doomsday as the main villain, but that wasnt the case at all.

Just watched it a little while ago. I thought it was great. They did a good job with the Superman/Doomsday fight. Kind've short though at only 71 minutes.

it was good, but i would have liked to have seen more doomsday being a badass to really show what kind of monster he was.

i forget, but in the comics, didnt doomsday take on a big group of superheroes in a really short amount of time?
