For those who own a SuperLanboy, are the 120MM fans adequate in it? Do you wish they were quieter?

In a more general question, what are some quality 120MM fans that will move some air in peace & quiet? What about the Vantec Stealth's, any opinions? Thanks in advance!

I was not happy with their quietness!

I added two 47-Ohm 0.5W resistors in parallel (23.5 Ohms 1W) in series with the wire that powers them both. I cannot hear them now and the cooling is still good.

They are good at less than 9V. However, not enough for me. I went ahead and bought 2x YateLoon 12SL for 21.xx$ including a 7$ shipping fee. These are 300rpm faster than then Nexus. IE, they are just as good for less than half price!

Before I swapped fans, I had evercool aluminum 120 @ 5V as exhaust and the stock rear antec fan as intake @ 5V.

Do you have any photos of what you did?

No, I do not have any photos.

I got 5 47-Ohm resistors from Radio Shack for $0.99. Those are 0.5W resistors.
I put two of them in parallel. That is connected end A of resistor 1 to end A of resistor 2. Connected end B of resistor 1 to end B of resistor 2. Now, I have a resistor from A to B, which is 47/2 Ohms (23.5 Ohms) and 1W.

I connected the molex connector of the two fans together.

I bought a Molex (4 wires) extension cable from CompUSA. I cut the yellow wire (12V) in the middle and connected the resistor to the two ends. So, the resistance between the two ends of the molex extension cable on the yellow wire is 23.5 Ohms now.

I connected one end of the extension cable to the fans and the other end to the power supply.

So, the total current of the two fans goes through the added resistor. The effect is a reduced voltage across the fans, resulting in lower RPM.
I experimented with different values of resistance until I found the value (23.5) that gave maximum RPM and no noise.

I hope this is clear.

NOTE: Reducing the RPM of a fan reduces its cooling capability.

Bought 2 as well from isellsurplus.com
Dead Silent in my wifes comp. I couldn't here the one I installed at all with her WD hard disk whining.

those are ys fans or nexus?

Those are Yate Loon. (They make Nexus) 1350rpm vs. Nexus @1000 rpm.
