Ok, so i bought a a super lanboy today from comp usa since it was only $40....should i spend the extra money to buy a $100(or preferably cheaper) 24-pin power supply? if so, which one?

Or, should I return the super lanboy, and buy a case that already has a power supply installed? I'd prefer not to have to use a 20-24 pin adapter

Keep the case and get yourself a good PSU. You won't find a better case/PSU combo like you will end up with for $140...

Take a look here for PSU recommendations: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=37&threadid=1518323&enterthread=y

There is a great Fortron 530w PSU here: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=45&threadid=1526733&enterthread=y

I practically did the same thing, I bought a $40 Super Lanboy and an Antec 550 True Control off the Fs/Ft forum for $80. It was like new. Excellent combo for $120.

I agree with Mucker...keep the case, it's one of the best deals going at the moment. You'll be hard pressed to find a very good PSU that comes with a case.

I also have the same DFI mobo as you and bought the Super Lanboy case at CompUSA. If you read the threads at http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/forumdi...=c215c24de2114a872b5924248f342e9a&f=22
you'll see that that mobo is particularly finicky with power supplies. Some people have them running with 20-pin power supplies, but many people have problems with underpowered and 20 pin PSUs. I ordered the 500W fortron blue storm, and it wll be here Sat or Monday and I'll assemble my pc.
