They don't have permission. Looks like they'll never say "Superman." Always "my cousin" and "him."
No I got that but I mean how do they explain it in the show. Superman is a pretty big part of Metropolis and pretty outspoken.

And Marvel did Agent Carter, and I couldn't stand that past two episodes.
We are close to the end of the Comic Book Bubble. This is the kind of thing that happens when a company/idea/movement/trend is so popular for so long that all of a sudden "inclusiveness" is more important than pure economics because there is the assumption for the economics to be there.
I expect the walls to come down soon. Batman vs Superman is going to suck. Hard. That will bring down DC and its best property (batman). Then the Fantastic Four movie will be Marvel's worst movie to date which will take away their sense of invincibility.
I don't want it all to go away, I like the MCU. But eventually audiences will stop responding.
While I didnt think Agent Carter was particularly great, there was nothing necessarily wrong with it.
Its not clear what you mean by inclusiveness over economics...do you mean shows with female leads?
If anything, the comic tv shows are getting better. When they start consistently putting out crap then there might be a cause for concern, but it hasnt really happened yet.
It is over the top 90's girl power. We have moved past that, now women in TV can be more than "better than the boys." We expect female leads to be complete and flawed characters too.
Anything other than white men. Of the main Marvel movie franchise, all of the character based ones so far are based on white men. Or at least the main protagonist is a white guy.
Some people see it as a problem:

I am just saying that could be the canary in the coal mine. I mean it was Supergirl that killed the first comic book movie boom:

These are the types of serious intellectual high-minded subtopics we should unite to have a round table discussion.
You will never be able to please them.
Legends of tomorrow looks more promising IMO.I enjoyed it, ignoring the explosively bad CGI. My GF wants me to get into the DC/comic universe, so this would be a good start?

a) At any random moment I can walk out my office onto my Santa Barbara sidewalk and immediately see LITERALLY 100s of girls WAY prettier. Probably thousands but I cut it down to only hundreds to prevent still more guys trying to move into here....go away!
Supergirl should be Super as in Super fit, Super pretty, Super girl-wise,...this actress isn't,
plus she's apparently lesbian. To my Christian value system that's not what I want the young girls to model themselves after because it's WRONG.
At ALMOST 27 she's too old ...Supergirl is supposed to be a late teen, up to maybe 22. In other words, the HOT years (17 to 24).

b) BOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Fantastic Four is a Marvel property, but it is not a Marvel-made movie. Fantastic Four movie rights are currently owned by Fox. Frankly, I'm hoping the movie tanks and tanks hard. My hope is that Fox will want to sell the rights back to Marvel, which means we finally get access to characters like Silver Surfer. ...or at worst, maybe we could get a shared deal like we're seeing with Sony and Spider-Man?
It looks like the production company leaked the pilot, as it showed up at the usual places in SD, 720p, and 1080p with multi-channel audio. I guess they want the fan feedback to do as much tweaking as possible.
I haven't, but I hear it's way better than the trailer! 🙂Hmm... so, anyone see this yet, and is it as bad as everyone thinks it is going by the trailer that they had for this before?

Watched the "leaked" premiere. 😉
Kara Zor-El (age 13) spaceship/pod leaves the planet Krypton just after Kal-El's pod leaves. Her mission is to protect her baby cousin (Kal-El_ when they arrive at Earth. But her pod is knocked off course and enters the phantom zone (a region of space where time doesn't pass) and is trapped.
Pod arrives at Earth 24 years later and rescued by Superman. Adopted by a couple the Danvers with a daughter Alex.
Secret identity of Supergirl is named Kara Danvers (wears glasses). Setting is in a place called National City. Newspaper is called the Tribune just bought by Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). Kara ends up working at CatCo.
C.Grant plants of firing some people in the Tribune. Explains that it needs a source of news just like the Daily Planet gets with the presence of Superman in Metropolis. Meets James Olsen the new Art Director.
Kara's sister Alex is on a flight to Geneva, but the plane (Flight #237) develops engine trouble. Not sure if she can still fly and saves it from crashing and is photographed and exposes herself, world now knows of her existence. Same with 2 aliens hiding in National City who now seek revenge. She reveals to a friend Winn, who she is on the rooftop of the Tribune.
Kara is shot from the sky with darts laced with Kryptonite. She wakes up and meets Director Hank Henshaw working for an agency called the DEO (Department of Extranormal Operations) which monitors and "protects" Earth from extraterrestial presence. It is revealed that convicts from Krypton are hiding on Earth over the years. They escaped from the Phantom Zone in a space ship Forth Ross (Krypton's maximum security prison, somehow rescued by Kara's pod). DEO allows her to leave after being labeled dangerous.
She returns in National City and finds out that the female hero is now called Supergirl, but wants to be called Superwoman. Keeps her job at CatCo after a photograph taken by J.Olsen of Suoergirl at a bank robbery is credited to her. She gets a 50Hz voice communication and tells her to fly to the National City powerplant to meet a alien convict. Is told that her mother Alura Zor-El was the judge who sent them to the Phantom Zone and they seek revenge. Fight ensues and gets cut in her right shoulder. Brought back to the DEO and is fixed. Part of the ax that cut her is removed and used to trace Vartox. Ends up using her heat vision to heat up the ax during the 2nd fight. Vartox stabs himself and tells that more convicts will be after her.
Told by Jimmy Olsen to meet him in the rooftop and reveals that her cousin Superman wants him to watch over her. Ending scene shows 2 the convicts planning on the next move on how to kill Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, one who is revealed to be her auntie, Alura Zor-El's sister.
