What happens to all the Oakland Superbowl Champions t-shirts? I notice that they always have hats and shirts and stuff RIGHT after the game.... Soooo.... what happens to all the losing team's stuff? It happens in all sports too. Do they HAVE to throw it away? Is it illegal to sell an Oakland Superbowl 37 Champs shirt?

I want one...... just to screw with people. :D

Samething happended to Rams last year. Lot of local T-shirt manufacturers were making St. Louis Rams Superbowl Champions T-shirts

at end of the game to get ready for a barrage of customers. Well, Rams didn't win, so they had to trash all the T-shirts and lost lot of money over it.

You could wear one to work/school Monday so when all your friends yell and laugh at you for Oakland losing, you could say..... "Um... look the the shirt moron. Oakland won!"

Yup.

So how do the players get their T-shirts so fast? Doran admits that the company has already printed 144 shirts each for the St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots. Shirts for the losing team are destroyed after the game and Doran says that precautions are taken to prevent such shirts from becoming available for sale outside the Superdome.

ElFenix, you're pretty close. I'm 100% positive that I read somewhere, perhaps in SI or at espn.com, that the losing team shirts are sent to charities overseas. Apparently one day the author was watching a documentary about Africa, and on camera was some person wearing a Buffalo Bills 1991 Super Bowl Champions shirt.

It was pretty comical, our local station's reporters were in three different manufacturing plants and interviewing workers and managers,
from what I saw there were much more than 144 t-shirts, it was more like several hundreds from each plant.
