The 512G means 512Gbit dies, and the 9 after that indicates the quality grade: at least 90% of the rated capacity actually works on these chips. There's a reason cheap drives like this almost always give you 240GB usable space rather than 250GB or 256GB. It might actually have less usable spare area than a name-brand 256GB drive.
