Edit: And this is coming from someone who used to pour quarters into the various versions of SF in high school. What idiot decided that you shouldn't even be able to play a single fight in the demo?

So you used to spend tons and tons of quarters on the entire game series long ago, and you get pissed because you can't play a single player game in the demo? Just pay the $15 and quit being so melodramatic.

Sounds like you're an old school gamer...I'd hate to see your attitude back when games didn't have demos....

I agree w/ boberfett. Not including a single player portion to a demo is just stupid.

I agree with boberfett as well. I wanted to give this game a shot and see how well the controls responded for myself and see what the graphics look like. As it stands the only way you can play the demo is a local 2 player matchup. Pretty damn weak. Cmon Capcom, give us the ability to play a limited single player version of the game. I'd be happy with only being able to do 2 fights with only 2 players from the full game available. As it stands now they're not getting my $15.

The whole point of coming out with HD Remix was to give something new to the fighting game community besides playing Super Turbo for the rest of their days. I'm pretty sure when David Sirlin was making this game, he did not have the gamer in mind that plays by himself.

Then at least give me an online demo. As it stands now I don't know how it plays/looks on my TV as I don't have anybody around right now to play with, so I'm not dropping $15 on it yet. You don't have to bow down to the street fighter gods here man, just admit they dropped the ball on this demo. There's NO REASON to have it limited to 2 player local only.

It was called "dial up the local BBS and download the 'demo'" back then. Now it's called a torrent.

I spend enough money on games I know I want, so I can be choosy about companies that choose not to cater to me, the customer.

Thanks those are great links. Got any others? SF2THDR has totally re-kindled my love of Street Fighter. I just need to play more now.

Unlike what others have replied, I never said the demo for this game wasn't stupid, because it is. It just irked me when you turned your back on a game in a series that you love because of one stupid design flaw, on a demo nonetheless.

It's your money, do what you will, I don't really care.

We need to start an AT game share thread or something. I bought this on PS3 with 3 other people so it was only $3.75. Well worth it to me then.

Fuck that. If you like the game, give the developer your money. Game "sharing" on the PS3 is only one small step better than piracy.

Why would anybody want to pay for a game they can't even try out? For all anybody knew it was a terrible port, not to mention the 360 controller is hardly a good input for a game like SF. If you can't pull off a flash kick quickly because the controls are too demanding and expect perfect movement from an analog stick, then I say no thanks. The demo, had they not fucked it up, would have told me as much.

What? Jack Tretton talked about how it was a good idea during his E3 Keynote

Sony announced that players who download games from PlayStation's online shop can share them on up to five other PS3 machines.

If a player logs into his PlayStation 3 account on a friend's system, he can download any game he has already purchased. "You can send that content to four other friends for that initial investment," said Tretton. "We want to get the game in as many hands as possible." "It's not about generating profits at each and every interaction with the consumer," he said. "I think that really offsets the argument that says, 'Wow, that's a really pricey system.'"

I had no idea you could do that. That's pretty cool.

I really wanted to get this for PS3, but no matter how I enter my billing info the PS store will not accept either of my credit cards. This is a joke. I've never had an issue using my CC anywhere. If they really don't want my money that's fine.

I've been playing this the last few days and it's awesome. Brings back so many SF memories.

You cheapasses who don't wanna spend $15 on this game are losing out bigtime.

That's quite possibly the coolest thing I never knew about the PS3.

Yeah, I've done the game sharing thing with a couple of different people. It's easy, you just have to trust the person with whom you are trading.

OK, I'll eat crow and concede on this one. I guess I was just in a pissy mood this weekend. You're right. Seriously.

You forget to mention that this was said BEFORE the PS3 had even released, and after they knew price was going to be an issue. If you can find a quote more recent to where they still encourage this practice, or even a developer who thinks it's a good idea, then maybe I'd go along with it.

But regardless of what those guys say, I still say if you like a game, you should pay full price for it instead of "sharing" it. Otherwise, those good games won't be made next time.

I'm pretty sure he talked about it again at this e3 but anyways, I don't think it's fair to call it one step better than piracy. I've never pirated a game and I don't ever plan to. If this was some glitch in the system and a loophole, I wouldn't do it.

Sony has come out and said it's ok
They allow it on the store.
If they didn't want to allow it, they could do what they do to warhawk (Only 1 ps3 system per 24 hours) or they could lock it out all together

I see where you are coming from, wanting the devs to earn more money, etc, but since sony supports it and was A-Ok, i don't think its being like piracy.

I bought this the other day on a whim. I rarely spend Live Points but I had some so why not? Anyway, I love it. It's so well done but I feel like I am going to destroy my controller. Is anyone buying a joystick just for this game? Which one?

Well, I did call it a "step above piracy" before I ever knew about Sony officially supporting it at whatever point. But I guess if Sony says they support it, then I can't really say anything about it. I would like to know if you find any info about them talking about it more recently, though.

If you're handy with electronics, you could buy a PS2 or PS3 stick and add in/swap the PCB with a 360 controller's pcb.

Or you can get the Fighting stick EX2 and mod out the buttons and stick.
