SUPER SLOWDOWN in UT2004 Demo Assault & Onslaught levels???

Getting SUPER Slowdown's in Assault & Onslaught??

In Assault I get about 20-30's FPS and in Convoy I got in the teens!!! THIS SUPER-BLOWS folks. At first I thought it was something wrong with my PC, but not the case. So I lowered the AA & AF settings in the Catalyst control panel to 2X, and nothing changed, still crappy performance, before I had it at 4X/8X.

So then I changed the game rez from 1280X1024 to 1024X768 and the FPS rate stayed the SAME!!!!

What's the Deal Epic/Atari?? I hope this is just due to it being a Beta Demo?

Here's what I got

P4 3.0c
ABIT IC7 w/ 800Mhz FSB
1GB PC3500 Kingston Hyper X @ 2-2-2-5
Radeon 9700 non-pro w/ CAT 4.2
Audigy 2 ZS
XP Pro

In the other levels I get very good performance, like around 70-110FPS, but not these two levels; I don't get it. Anyone have any ideas??

Try turning off all FSAA and AF.

I am having a similer problem to yours, I just tried what you said to see if it was the same on my computer, and wadda' ya' know. I get lag playing the same levels as you, and on like DM Rankin I get like 60-80 fps a second, Torlan for instance I get 20 and under.

I haven't had any problems playing the game but the only setting I have changed is the res, 1024x768, everything else is set at default.

No PAL, you do. At first I thought this was a problem with my computer only, but now that there are 2 of use with good systems, it is a problem that needs attention, but is not getting it. I hope the full version of UT2k4 doesn't have these problems...

Well folks, if ya believe me or not that's not my intention. I just wanted to see if any other AT gamers our there were having the same problems I know A LOT of users are having with the Demo.

If this is indeed a 'Beta' Patch, hopefully they will release a final demo, or a patch for the one we have now?
