super sad Dog story showing why dog is the best pet

We wouldn't see a cat do that . . ..
I don't know about that. My senior year of high school, one of the barn cats had kittens. There was one kitten that took a liking to me for whatever reason. Whenever I'd work on my car, he'd be right there either sleeping on the dash or sleeping on the seat.

I went away to college and he'd sneak into the house and hide on my bed. I have a double bed, so he'd sleep on the side I slept on, right where my head would lay. When my parents found that hiding spot, he'd sneak in and curl up in my lazy boy recliner (we have three and a couch).

I was home for a week this may before moving out here, when I was loading up the vehicles for the move, I had to take him out of my car twice and the truck three times. He'd wait until I was in the house getting something, then hop in and hide. I'd notice he'd gone missing and have to find where he was hiding.

He does seem to miss me when I'm gone, can't say I've ever seen a cat act like him.

Aw, that's a sad story - it's weird and sad to think that dogs have feelings just like ours, because they're often not thought of when tragedies happen.

Jack Russells are pretty darn smart. I am normally a coldhearted person, but when I saw that story this morning with that picture, it almost broke my heart. I just wanna go and sit with him at that bus stop to keep him company.

oh stop it, they're animals. it's called operant conditioning

so what exactly is causing the dog to stop eating? the dog hasn't been reinforced for four months; shouldn't the behavior be extinct by now?

It feels good to know that no one will care about you when the Code Red kills you, doesn't it?

yup, animals.... not like us humans...

heh, good point.

Though I've had a hell of a time convincing my 5 year old that people are animals.
She asked me if we were made of meat too. 🙂

hehe cute 🙂 hope you didn't go into cannibalism :Q my parents rented silence of the lambs when i was about 7... being immigrants and not being in touch with culture, they just heard it was a good movie so they rented it and we all watched it together. nice family movie...

I have a Jack Russell and I can see this happening if something happened to my wife.

He knows the sound of the FedEx truck and UPS truck. His behaviour is so pronounced that I can tell if it's UPS or FedEx by the way he acts!

Have any of you ever heard of the word anthropomorphism? There is no scientific evidence showing that animals have emotions. This is usually taught in psychology 101 I thought.

My mom took me to poltergheist when I was 3. Since she payed for tickets we had to watch the whole thing. I think I'm permanently scarred from that, at least I can't look at a Harlequin doll without shuddering, that's for sure.
