Super-prone VESA stand?

I'm looking for a replacement stand for a Viewsonic TD2340 that will put the monitor in a more prone position than the stock articulating stand does. Essentially I want the front lip of the monitor (which is helpfully sharply angled) to sit flush on the desk, with a minimal stand to just prop it up at a ~30-40 degree angle.

What happens with the stock stand is that if you angle the monitor at say 35 degrees, the front lip of the monitor is 2.5" off the desk. I'd like that to be zero. Which means what I want is a sort of VESA wedge (about 3.5" high at the rear VESA mount screws), if that makes any sense to you guys.

Any ideas?

Does it need to be adjustable? If not, why not just make one of your own? Some simple sheet metal, wood and varnish and you can put together something simple but effective, and if you have any skill with that sort of thing, it doesn't have to look like total crap either (not that it would even be seen probably).

It's not really that effective a use of my time. Sure, at the simplest level it could just be a block of wood but I was wondering if there was an elegant manufactured solution.
