I dislike the loudness of the Super Orb by ThermalTake. I want something that can run as quiet as my dell 500mhz. When I have the dell on in my room, I can still hear the super orb spinning away next door to me. What cpu cooler should I get to minimize noise, taking into consideration that I might be overclocking this later down the line. (800 duron with Asus A7133)

the super orb gives deceptive temps on the mb, anyway, almost any non-orb, should do as well.

i had the same problem. after listening to that little guy buzz like a b**** i bought myself a socket-aho from 3dfxcool.com. Bigggg difference. I would suggest getting the socket-aho or the fop-32. Basically just get anything and dump it now. you can always change the fan on another heatsink to make it quiter or get an adapter, like i also ordered just havent received yet.

Good luck and i hope you find quietness soon.

I am in the same situation with an Orb. What I am doing is some modification. I just got a Panaflo 80mm fan that I'm going to use with the Orb.

Basically I'm just getting some flexible tubing to connect the new fan and the Orb. One end of the tubing will go part way over the ORB heatsink, and the other end to a flange which hooks up to the fan.

This should be extremely quiet while still flowing a lot of air over the Orb heatsink.
