Waffles are delicious. If you're one of those people that fill each divot in the waffle with syrup, then you're putting too much on and effectively killing the chance for a better tasting waffle.

I had a Sega Genesis because 90% of the kids had a Sega Genesis. Everyone would plan their game purchases so that we didn't all end up with the same games and later shared/exchanged them with the others. Good times - I got to play (and get bored of) every single game on the market.

Super Nintendo never caught on in my school.

SNES. I liked Sega but SNES had more games that appealed to me.

Also, Waffles are great. Their little pits can be filled with deliciousness.

The Genesis sucked. There were hardly any good games for it and the ones that did exist also existed on the SNES or PC anyways. SNES FTW!

I had a Genesis, but I wanted to stick with Sega after having a Sega Master System... so I was somewhat biased.

I secretly didn't like kids that played Nintendo even though I ended up playing several of the games on the NES and later SNES (in secret).

Phantasy Star
NHL series
Alex Kidd series
Ghouls N Ghosts
Mortal Kombats
Shining Force

I could go on, but I won't. "hardly any good games" - now that's just silly.

Sounds like someone who never played any of the Sonic, Phantasy Star, or Shining series. Not to mention lesser known classics like Warsong. That's at least a dozen amazing games off the top of my head that never appeared on the SNES, and I'm sure there are plenty of others.

Edit: Forgot about the Golden Axe and Thunder Force series. If you think there were no good exclusives on the Genesis, you're just a fanboy. SNES had awesome games and better graphics, but the Genesis has it's place in gaming history.

Edit 2: Toe Jam and Earl, Streets of Rage, and I can't I believe I forgot one of the greatest games of all time, let alone one of the best on Genesis: Herzog Zwei. That's the granddaddy of all RTS games.

Fighting, sports, & racing games played better on the Genesis; most anything fast. The kids that owned Sega back then, are the same adults now whos collections consist of just Tekken, NFS, & Madden rehashes. They're always the first to go out & drop $60 on the newest basketball game, then wonder why they can't get $10 for their nfl2k5 three years later. :p

Never liked sports games of any kind, Mortal Kombat was on several platforms, and haven't played the rest. I'll see if I can find some ROMs of those and see if they're any good.

To be honest I'm not a huge console guy at all, but SNES has a couple (Kirby Super Star and Kirby's Dream Land 3, mainly) games that beat even many of the best PC games. Ones like Toejam & Earl aren't bad games, but they just aren't good enough to take note on.

Sonic never had any appeal to me. It's too fast-paced and at times it feels kind of repetitious, with many levels consisting of little but running through loops and dodging stuff. Still need to give Phantasy Star a shot... I've heard about it for years but never got around to playing it.

In my experience, there were a few great titles on Genesis, but not nearly as many as on the SNES. There were tons of "slightly above par" titles on both systems, but again... still more on the SNES.

There are amazing titles on both systems. ie. I'm not sure Skate or Die was ever released for the Genesis, yet IMHO it is one of the best games ever.
