I've got a Super LAN Boy case and wanted to make a duct so I can use the rear 120mm fan to "pull" the heat off my XP-120 ala "Dell" style. Any recomendations on what to use to make this duct?

I was thinking of useing some sort of thin plastic and a hot glue gun but I'm open for suggestions.

get a powersupply like the S12 by seasonic, and you will have 2x 120mm fans sucking off of the Xp120. Switch the fan on the XP 120 to blow out towards the window. I dont think you will need any plastic mods because the 2x 120mm exhaust will have enough flow rate to direct the warm cpu air through themselves.

However, if you are in the modding spirit, i would recommend getting 3/32" thick lexan and 5 minute epoxy. I have had good luck with making a duct for my Zalman ZM80D on my 9800pro. I say lexan because unlike plexi, it wont shatter, or crack under a drill or even nibblers.

I've got a Fortran Blue Storm with a 120mm in it but I would rather the heat go out the rear 120 then sucked up into that. I'll give that fan flip on the xp-120 a shot and see what happens.

Do you know any reputable place to purchase a sheet of that lexan if I were to go mod crazy?

My brain was in "duct mode" all day and I came up with an idea.

It involves using the clear plastic cylinder that 100 pack CDs come in as a duct. I'm thinking the "snap-in base" could be epoxyd on the 120mm fan with the fan mounted on either the XP-120 or the side of the case for a suck or blow configuration.

Heatsink | Fan | "Snap-in base" | CD Cylinder | Hole in side of case

Or

Hole in side of case | Fan | "Snap-in base" | CD Cylinder | Heatsink

Going to check it out when I get home.

If you want a ghetto mod just to see if the idea will work, you can use cardboard. Just make sure that you have a path for air from your harddrives and the like to escape.
