Title says it all. This is in-store only. This router is equal to the popular D-Link 655 according to smallnetbuilder.net.

I have this router. I am very pleased with it on the whole. It has a couple small quibbles:

1) It keeps changing the subnet IP for one of my computers on the network. I have to keep going back and changing the IP to port forward because it'll change itself. I don't know if this is the router's fault.
2) I get 6-9MB/s on Wireless transfers, but if I queue up too huge at a time (40GB) it'll just choke after awhile and need to be rebooted. You need to manually increment your transfers. This is no big deal, because up to 25GB at a time is fine.

Otherwise it's superb. My WRT54GL with Tomato was lucky to do 400KB/s wireless transfers, not 9MB/s!

I had heard horror stories about TRENDnet rebates, but jumped on two different deals for two different routers in April. This weekend, I got email confirmations for the two rebates. One was denied because of missing UPC bar code (a total lie). The other was valid and a check is promissed in July.

If the valid rebate's check is actually mailed in July, that will be a 3-month turnaround, which is way on the long side for many people. For the "invalid" rebate, I called back about the "missing bar code" and gave it to them over the phone. They warned me that it may take a while, because it is technically a new rebate submission. So, I may be looking at another 3-month wait on top of the 6 weeks I have already waited.

The bottom line, I would still jump on this deal in a heartbeat if I had a Fry's nearby, but make sure you have copies of everything you send.

TrendNet rebates? Don't get me started:) This is one of my favorites, similar to your experience:

"4 different rebate send-ins. 4 different letters from TrendNet: "Your rebate was missing something". My last 2 attempts I had the UPC code taped to the rebate form with big red arrows pointing at it. TrendNet: "Missing UPC Code" !! You call them....they don't keep the original letters. These rebates are complete FRAUD's IMHO."

Doesn't really matter what you save or copy - if you're marked for denial, they will deny on any pretext. In your case, I can predict what will happen: two months from now, when you haven't heard anything on your re-submission, you'll get the famous TN kiss-off: "We are entertaining no further correspondence. The promotion is over".

If you bought from Amazon or NewEgg, don't resubmit to TrendNet, but instead send your complaint to Customer Service. They will quietly make good on your rebate "To restore your faith in NewEgg" (in that case) (Amazon too).
