*SUPER HOT* SIRIUS Satellite Radio Receiver w/ Controller for $9.99 @ BB!

I dunno why nobody mentioned this but on page 15 of this upcoming Best Buy's ads is the JENSEN Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver with Controller for $9.99 after $165 in instant rebates. Now I don't know about you but this is a kickass deal!

Note: It mentions nothing about whether or not you need to buy an additional antenna (which XM Satellite Radio's service requires to actually get the signal) so be cautious!!

Also there is the normal extra $15 for activation fee and of course the $12.95 monthly fee.

If you are on the road a lot, this is a great deal. I recently bought a Kenwood KDC-MP919 receiver for my car but... well if I had a nicer car, I'd definately get this Sirius Satellite receiver. I just hate how you HAVE to get an antenna (at least for XM) so everyone knows you have Satellite Radio and your car might get broken into more often.

Enjoy!

edit: BTW, I saw this in the Gaithersburg, Maryland BB's add. (zip 20878)

edit: I heard that if you activate this thing online, it's only $5, not $15 @ B&M.

edit: Ehhh, upon closer examination of the BB ad, it says "Satellite antenna and FM modulator sold separately". Still a hot deal for the receiver and controller though. It was over $170 a week ago.

edit...: Was just surfing on Kenwood's site, found this for a $30 rebate on the Kenwood Sirius Satellite Radio Antenna!

its a nice deal , really. but it requires you to get the modulator to connect your tuner to your receiver which i think is an extra 40 bux. but on XM, that antenna you hate cost only about 20 bux (talking about the recent deal). not to mention the 10 bux monthly plus you can also use it at home if you buy the home kit for another 20 bux.

but i think, either way, everybody gets a good deal. i just prefer the xm because of the lower monthly plus it can be use at home. just my .02.🙂

A. Jensen makes pretty decent stuff. Its not going to win any audiophile awards, but it is damn good stuff for a great price. You could definitely get worse.

B. XM Sucks big huge donkey dick. Is there any linkage for the ad?

Why???

And I bet XM lasts a lot longer than Sirius does..... I bought XM because they will stay around longer than Sirius.........

lol. i second the "put your money where your mouth is" to lokny. weak-ass statements like "XM sucks" with no support (and when it's not common knowledge, like "tiger direct sucks" is) are a waste of a post.

tell us *WHY* you think they suck. they already have a pretty good head start on subscribers over sirius.

Confirmed in Toledo, OH. Sorry, just got the last 3 from the 2 bestbuy stores...............ready to be a Ebay Bastard🙂

Had one left in the ann arbor michigan BB and I got it. Not sure what i'm going to do with it, maybe use it, maybe sell it. If only sirius would drop there prices some then I would not have 2nd thoughts about switching to them. But for $3/month more, I really have to think about whether I want it or not. My radio is sirius radio ready so really all I need is the tuner (Kenwood KTC-SR901) which is at crutchfield and even includes a free antenna for only $85/free ship and that will plug right into my radio via the cd changer plug. If I could figure out the pin-outs for my radio then I could use this unit but i'm not going to shell out $40+ for a fm modulator. My radio has no other inputs.

Update: nevermind I guess they sell an adapter for $20 at crutchfield which converts the cd changer plug on my radio to rca plugs. Exactly what I need. Still not sure if i'm going that route or not.

I went in today and this is what I was told

Unit $9.99
Install $65
Parts for Install $35
Antenna $80

Total=$190.00

Seems a bit steep?
