Looking around a bit, there seems to be some disagreement as to if Logitech will actually honor the rebate.

I'll take a shot at it and hope for the best.

Will be interesting to see, as I got in on the deal a little bit ago (have had the remote for a few weeks) and the rebate I grabbed off the net did not have the "Tivo Only" on it.

Wow, just saw this on SD. This is incredibly HOT if the rebates works. Still very good if it doesn't.

After some further research over at FW it seems that the rebate center will reject your first request as a matter of course. If you call and bug them (after all nothing the non-tivo in the rebate invalidates DELL as a retailer) apparently you can get it to go through.

Anybody have the link to the rebate form without the Tivo Only?

More importantly, I actually have a TiVo, but I didn't see anywhere on the form to add any Tivo account info, etc. Any suggestions on how to claim this?

Thanks.

Even if the Rebate doesn't work, It still worth $119. I mean this thing will even control my Maytag window Air conditioner! Anything that has infrared.

The success rate on the rebate seems to be pretty high when you call.. So after tax for me it will be $74, which is an incredible price on this remote (Best Buy wants $237)

zikronix - was the Dell purchase the reason for denial of your rebate? I don't see such an exclusion when I read the terms and conditions.

Agreed! LT must honor the rebate otherwise it's a scam from their part, IMO. The rebate form clearly does not require to buy from any specific seller.

anyone know if this remote works with the bose lifestyle series?

i think i have the lifestyle 38

i wish there was a deal on the new logitech that also supports RF

edit: nevermind, found someway to do it for the 38 ... it looks like the newer lifestyles can switch to accept ir commands

Yes...Others have also been getting the canadian version the remote from dell. While the same remote diffferent upc so they got denied on that front. When I sent my rebate I entered the contest on logitechs site and I got the rebate form with out the tivo wording. However some have reported that the form with the tivo wording meant the remote had to be purchased with a tvio or from tivo which really makes sense because at the end of the contest when they sent you the rebate for there was a link for tivo.com buy now and get 50.00 back when you buy the 880. I still got a good deal on my remote so im not complaining Im just saying its a YMMV type deal. Using coupons could also invalidate the deal.

How come the coupon code Dell gives you on their site doesn't work?
I can't get the code to work at all and when I add it to the 'my coupons' section in my dell account it says it's already been redeemed (but nothing saying that it's reached it's limit).

Search for 880 and you'll see the thread with the non-Tivo rebate form.

Coupons are not mentioned in the T&C either, but I can certainly see that if you get a product whose UPC is for a different part no. than shown on the rebate form there could be a problem. What part no. is Dell shipping?

Edit - according to info on the Dell site, they are selling mfr. part no. 966187-043 and that's the one shown on the rebate form I think I'll take a chance - even w/out the rebate it's still the best deal I can find on this remote.

I'm curious about the problems you've had with yours. I've had mine since shortly after they came out and I've had ZERO problems with it.

I am seriously considering getting another one of these for "just in case" at this price. I have a couple of devices in my bedroom I could use this to control. :)
