Here are the couple deals I found on TCWO.com

1. AMD ATHLON XP 1800+ RETAIL FOR $85 PLUS $6 SHIPPING

2. AMD ATHLON XP 1600+ OEM FOR $59 PLUS $4 SHIPPING
(This is good for the overclocker people when you combine this cpu with the
SVC GC68 cooler for $10 shipped)

I'm trying to decide which deal I should go with....and I'm not an overclocker!!!!

Actually, TCWO.com is currently the CHEAPEST cpu retailer out now.

If you go through pricewatch.com you can get the 1800+ CPU for $78 shipped.

note those on pricewatch.com with lower price has shipping is 10-12 days!

TCWO ship 3 with 3 days Fedex.

Your choice.

also, beware that some co. report as 55 in pricewatch, but actually is 55.99 since pricewatch only report the whole number.

if you use tcwo...make sure its the 3 day fedex....in the past(before the $3.95fedex) I used the free ups ground(up to 150 lbs).....it was terribly slow(2 weeks)...other than that...tcwo is a good company to buy from...they will try to make you buy a HSF to get a longer warranty on the CPU...which may benefit some of you

I'd rather buy from TCWO than the shady vendors on pricewatch, IMO. Why risk it? Look at all the guys who bought from EMS, LOL... They're up $h*t's creek w/out a paddle

I believe I saw the new Tbreds on tcwo.... Just be sure that your motherboard can accept it, and I'm talking about the stepping as well... Some newer boards are having problems with certain steppings of tbreds I read... just be careful or you may have to RMA it for another Tbred w/ different stepping :)

EDIT: I'm golden now!!! I'm golden now!!!

Googlegear still holds the lead on the new 2200+... $203.50 shipped FedEx. But TCWO seems to be a couple bucks cheaper on all the other models.

By the way, addressing the other issue in the first post: If you're not going to overclock, get the retail versions. Due to recent price wars between tcwo, newegg and googlegear, the retails are often only a few bucks more, and you get the heatsink and fan. (You also generally get a much longer warranty of 3 years, if you care about that).

For instance, TCWO generally only adds about $10 for hte retail package. When you consider that you're not paying any extra shipping to get the heatsink/fan, very difficult to match that deal.

(And before everyone starts jumping on the quality of the fans amd includes with its retail packages: I've built more than a dozen systems with them and have never had a single problem. Plus, they're warrantying the thing for three years, so there's no motivation for them to include junk.)

Just got my green AGOIA XP 1700+ today from TCWO when it was listed for $62 from TWCO couple days ago. Hmm the XP1600+ has gone down in price while the the XP 1700+ has gone up in price. I just mod the bridge to 13x multiplier. Can't wait to get home and see if this baby can run at 2100+.;)

Well I never cares about warranty because the first thing I do with it is void the warranty by connecting the bridge.:D

On TCWO reputation...

I live near TCWO and pick stuff up from them occasionally. I know this ID is new but I used to be TechieZero (i forgot my old pw!!!). TCWO works out of a warehouse near the Tampa airport and they always do good by me. They are not fly-by-night and have been there for at least 10 years.

Googlegear has like 50 cents shipping everywhere..... Plus I trust googlegear more than any other online vendor. They have the best site and some of the lowest prices. 134$ for 200+ shipped for like 50 cents, or 131 at compuplus with 7$ shippin.....

Kind o' weird. Go to the site and $3.95 for Fedex 3 day shipping pops up but when I went to check out...it came up as $5.95.TC WO may be OK but don't how you get more than the minimum for a CPU. It was retail, so that may be it.

Anyway, because I live in FL, it is cheaper for me to order from Newegg. I get hit with sales tax with TCWO.
