defiantdesign... this is in AWESOME deal! Great Post. I just bought this monitor for $199AR a couple months back. This comes with eTrust security suite and the monitor for $149.

This monitor has DVI inputs and honestly is brighter than my 1905FP Dell Ultrasharp. Great color and response time. Comes with built-in speakers. These are great for normal day to day office like computing.. but don't expect this to perform well enough to play music or games.

As for Tiger Rebates, they come through. I've gotten every one. And yes, they sometimes take time. Those who complain either haven't filed a rebate since 'the bad old days of TD' or are just too stupid to follow directions. Most are the latter. Follow directions, mail on time, and keep a copy. Period. TD guarantees all rebates now, so should you not receive it, they will pay it to you (as long as you follow directions and keep a copy). If you can't follow directions: don't expect rebates, and don't complain, and don't threadcrap for people who can.

Yeah, as much as I love the Egg, I'd never buy a monitor with their pixel policy. Maybe people like us don't make enough of an impact on their sales to revise it, but I would think that's got to cost them more in lost sales $ than it would to accept returns. The only way that marketing strategy would work in my mind would be if A) not enough people care about the policy, or B) they're picking up new monitors dirt cheap because they have just enough dead pixels to pass under the policy. Most internet retailers I would vote B, but the Egg has always been a quality store, so I guess not enough people care to impact their sales, and they're just cover their asses.

I have purchased quite a few items in the past couple months thru TD with rebates. The No-wait rebate service is awesome. I have had one where the manufacturer said I didn't give em the right serial number but thats it. Too bad I was hasty that day and didn't make copies.

this deal is only mediocre at best.. cold in my opinion.

the shipping that TD adds + TD Rebates + the Uglyness of the monitor + the relativly un-nown brand.... all negate the price in my opinion.

still proud to say i have never ordered anything from TD in my life.

Maybe I'm just slow on the uptake. I did a search for this monitor to get some opinions. Most of the hits were for Tiger, but got a few for Global. I had never realized that Global and Tiger were one and the same. The one hit sent me to the same exact page as Tiger but with the Global banner. I remember buying from Global years ago, probably wouldn't have if I knew it was Tiger.

IIRC the company that owns TD, SystemMax, bought out Global a few years ago.

heh, i always assumed http://www.barebonekit.net/index.asp was also related to TD, becuase the layout and color of there website looks very similar to TD, but apairently there not in the list at SystemMax.
