Okay, I have a SNES (still my favorite system of all time). Anyway, I want to play some Supre Famicom games on my SNES. Can I get a converter somewhere that will allow me to play Famicom games on my SNES?? If so, whats the converter called? Maybe I can get one on Ebay. Thanks

I do recall some kind of converter back in early 90's when SNES was da bomb. Since the system has aged a bit, it would be difficult to find one, have you tried lik-sang?

if i remember correctly you can cut out a notch with a sharp blade near the bottom edge of the cartridge.

just match the groove up with a regular snes cart and start digging into the plastic until the import cart fits in.

i remember i used to do this with dbz imports..... like ten years ago...

just break out the pegs in the cartridge bay of tyour american SNES, all thats stopping the japanese games from playing is they dont have grooves in the base like the american ones do. Easiest mod ever. All you need are some needlenose pliers.

I only have one japanese game, but it works fine on my SNES. If you want to play PAL games on a Japanese/American machine you will have problems. Breaking out the pegs is a start, but it looks like some games have more advanced protections so yes *cough* emulation *cough* would be a good alternative

what games were you looking to play? I modded my SNES so I could play Rockman and Forte (I am a HUGE megaman fan).

Yep. We broke the pegs off our SNES and our N64 to play Japanese games. I think we originally modded the SNES to play Final Fantasy 6. I modded the N64 to play Mario Kart.

The character voices and names are different, but from what I could tell, everything else was the same.

I remember in middle school when my korean neighbor got some Dragonball Z games imported from Japan for the Super Famicom. All we did was break those 2 pegs with some pliers, took minutes.

If you havea Game Genie, break the tabs where you insert the cartridge into the Genie.
