Supercycle defined
The report defines a super-cycle as “a period of historically high global growth, lasting a generation or more, driven by increasing trade, high rates of investment, urbanisation and technological innovation and characterised by the emergence of large, new economies, first seen in high catch-up growth rates across the emerging world.” The world has seen two such super-cycles before. The first ran from 1870 until 1913, the eve of the First World War. The second began with the end of the Second World War and lasted until the oil crisis in 1973. The current super-cycle started at the turn of the 21st century and is likely to extend until at least 2030.

Just browsed the PDF:some interesting charts:US will have "just" 12 % of the world economy in 2030(308 trillions) compared with 24% out of a 62 trillion in 2010.
Not so bad I would say.Any thoughts?

I'm glad Asia will have value, as it may deter them getting into wars that decrease that value. If Muslims would reform and evolve past 700AD it'd be in a wealthy nation.

China's 'wealth' may be a key factor in why we have not seen WW3 yet. Of course they do not distribute it and they have masses of extremely impoverished people, but those aren't the ones who decide China's policy.

Wealth may also explain the cold war. Both sides would take cheap moves, never willing to risk the cost of an 'all in'.

The OP is a confirmation to me of what I believe many people would agree on. The United State's recently lived through a golden era. This is now over, and our wealth will decline this century regardless of economic meltdowns, which only compound an underlying issue.

Contraction is never a pleasant thing to live through. It will cause instability, civil unrest, and god knows just how far the rabbit hole goes. Our own brand of terrorism may crop up as a response to failing pyramid schemes. How we manage our fall to 12% from 24% will tell a tale of what America REALLY is.
