They have a Lego robotics club at my son's school. He's not old enough for it yet but I can't wait until he is.

My son starts 1st grade this year in a Technology and Science Charter school within our local school district.

They just spend TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS on legos for the school year.

You should have seen my kid's face light up when he heard that.

My son is at a private school. They have a ton of after school activities to sign them up for. Everything from music to chess to dance to drama to tennis to martial arts. I wish we had the money and time to sign him up for all. It was tough deciding. We just signed him up for tennis and baseball for the fall. He'll do chess and another activity in the spring. Lego Robotics club doesn't start until 2nd or 3rd grade unfortunately.

Oh yeah! Well my son can kick your sons ass!

Seriously though, the lego robotics program is cool. It's offered at one school here, but the drive each morning would be murder since it's on the other side of town :(.

Sounds like a nice school for sure. We were going to send to private too, but then he got accepted to this Charter school and it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. And now that there's Legos... well...

Yeah we faced the same decision but went with the private school. The Charter School near our house seems nice but it's a Chinese/English curriculum which wasn't what we were really looking for. If we had one like what you are describing, I probably would have gone that direction.

edit: Don't mean to come off as "my kid is better than your kid" as MisterJackson is implying. I just think it's cool that schools are offering this stuff. I never had anything like this when I was their age.
