Super closeout bargains @ Fry's

I was at Fry's today (I have no idea why, maybe I was running low on stress) and saw quite a few things "Red-Tagged"

- Corner speakers reg $199, sale $39.90
- Tons of stuff in the home audio department $60+ off
(saw JBL tower speakers reg $499 each marked down to $199!)

There was also a cart full of opened/as-is items.. promise ATA cards for $4, modems for $4, Video cards from $4-$19 (saw a 32mb tnt2 in there!)..

I was at the one in Manhattan Beach.. and considering they're probably the most GHETTO Fry's and always out of the good stuff, I would say that you guys in NorCal might have a better chance at getting some deals.

Fry's has 2 full pages of ads in today's L.A. Times. One thing that caught my eye was a 6-piece Home Theater Speaker Package for $99. Might be just the thing to compliment the 32" TV I'm surprising the wife with later today. (She's been asking for days who the "really big" present is for. )

Here's an update, guys. The wife was really surprised -- and thrilled --with the new TV. Now, as for the final "big" present she'll get later tonight.... ;D

Do they now have a Fry's in Houston, TX? I was driving on I-45 and thought I saw a sign in the Greenspoint area but it may be a different chain. Anyone know?

I do not know if the Houston's Frys is open yet, but I do know that a new one was announced in Houston for a december opeining back in october off of I45. So yes Houston is getting a Frys, but I do not know if it is open yet.

Went to the Burbank Fry's around 12:30 today and it was jammed. I've never seen the checkout line so long before. I tucked tail and ran!
