I saw it last night and i thought it was great. Any other movies similar to this? I already saw solars and 2001 odyssey.

Well my major gripe was that it started as an interesting sci fi film with promise then all of a sudden did a 180 and turned into a horror film. It's as if they switched directors half way through the movie.

Oooh... I didn't mind that, really. I thought it was well done regardless.

I do understand what you're talking about though, it did kind of change flavors.

I rented it when it first came out and I didn't particularly care for it. The lack of character development left me not caring what happened to any of the crew. The premise of the movie was ridiculous and when it turned into a horror/slasher film it was over for me although I did watch the rest.

It was just ok. It could have been a lot worse, I guess. Not even remotely in the same league as 2001 or similar.

Yea, the captain flipped out into some religious belief that they shouldn't interfere in what he considered god's will (extinction of mankind). He destroyed the flight computer of Icarus I thereby stranding it.

Honestly, this was another one of those movies where the premise, set and idea allowed me to like the whole thing. I loved the ships design, the way space flight was handled, those awesome suits, communications blackout, the first icarus ship...

...but yeah...the ending went all wonky on me. I still liked it though.

this is one of the worst movies of 2007 for sure.

it was cool and all until like 75% in, and the ending part was just so terrible it put it in one of the worst movies of 07'.

As other have said, the first two thirds of the film were very good. The entire 'shrinking box' survival thing was handled very well.

The entire Pinbacker subplot though was extremely distracting. The concept wasn't bad, just the way it was handled. Been more interesting and kept to the intelligence of the first half of the movie if they had found Icarus 1, but *nobody* was alive and there was a resulting moral conflict from there trying to resolve what happened. I have no idea why Boyle went the cheap way out on this......

Immediate ending of the film was superb.....I have no problem with it.
