Hmm does the $30 GCU still count for a preorder? I thought it didn't according to the cheap a** gamer site.

I kind of expected people to be more hype about it. I need to check out some videos. I can wait until next week or later to get one. I'm looking on best buy's site trying to find something I'd want for $40 so I can get the GCU membership for $30. I trade games in there and normally buy them there too now. But there's nothing I really want lol.

yeah i'm not really sure what you are talking about - the game is getting pretty good reviews from just about everyone.

Yea I noticed main reviews look good. Just seemed like mixed reactions in the thread here. I'll have to try it myself if/when I pick up an Xbox.

well, no one in this thread has played it other than the OP heh. so our opinions don't mean much in that sense.

I've put a solid two hours into this game and it is...well...different.

The artyles is nice, but I'm getting tired of games trying to be "in yo face!!!" "OHH NASTY!!!" "SICK!!!!" Maybe it's the way I made my character. Haha.

Only serious complaint is the tearing. So sick and tired of tearing on the Xbone. Just lock the frame rate for crying out loud. This game doesn't need twitch responses (someone commented here about aim-assist while on rails. Yeah, it's there and it's definitely welcomed.)

Will be trading it in possibly Friday, so I can start Bayonetta, here is hoping I get >$40 trade in value because then it was essentially free to me. Site that I like to visit for reviews gave it a 70. Doesn't mean anything, with nothing else on the Bone until MCC, worth a purchase.

Back to SO. I even got my Soda Can cozy from Best Buy!

Tearing would likely happen with a locked frame rate too. It needs vsync that introduces some input lag. Maybe that's why it is how it is. Or maybe they fell into the trap that if it isn't 60fps (is this game 60fps?) it would blow up the internet.

Talking about the game not getting hype. I really didn't see too many ads for it and not a lot of talk about it. Other games seemed to get more attention. Maybe that is good for this game because low expectations and a solid game make it feel better to play.

Whoops, that what I meant by "locked frame rate" - I meant v-sync. Oh it would definitely add latency but so far this game hasn't made me feel like I need to go back to my Quake Arena days. The combat is loose (floaty would be a good descriptor since you can almost jump for eternity haha).

The auto aim takes care of you on rails and on foot you aren't really spearheading much. But that's just my complaint.

Titanfall definitely got the bigger end of ad generating. Also, I just saw the $50 "temp" price cut so anyone waiting to jump on Xbone, wait for Nov 2 or find a retailer that price adjusts. $350 for the MCC bundle is damn enticing.

Lots of bundles don't sell here because the gaming market is large and sales will more than make up for lack of a bundle. Other markets get bundles to spur console sales.

Selling a Halo bundle in their strongest market wouldn't hurt them in any way. They clearly have no issues giving away top tier AAA titles with hardware purchases (Titanfall Bundle, SO Bundle, Free Game Month during Destiny launch) so not having a Halo Bundle in the biggest Halo market just seems odd.

Call me cheap, but I'd much rather buy Halo Bundle for $350 than Sunset Bundle + $60 for Halo, specifically when I'd just want Halo.

You cannot pay off a future pre-order with this. However, the offer is through 11/8, so if you pre-ordered SO or do so with CoD, you can pay off those pre-orders at pick-up and get the deal. You just can't, say, pre-order Halo or Smash U and get the offer.

Yeah, I'm about to head to Best Buy to toss away The Evil Within, then I'll play this until CoD drops (undecided if I'll turn it in at that time or not). However, November 11th is the start of about 2 months of Halo (basically, until the beta ends in January).

I initially had some interest in SO, however it reminds me of Ratchet & Clank and worries me that replay value would be subpar (like Knack, play it once and be done with it). There's other games I have interest in right now.

I find it similar to Mordor, in that it's easy to just get lost in the killing. In both games, I found myself just flying around the map and slaughtering things, ignoring my current objective. I think that's a good sign for the core gameplay--that I just want to play the game, regardless of what it is asking me to accomplish.

I don't usually 100% my games. I'm not a perfectionist like that. I play through a the main stuff and do a few side things if it adds something to the game. So while it might seem like I play a lot of stuff, I am not doing everything possible.

I find it similar to Mordor, in that it's easy to just get lost in the killing. In both games, I found myself just flying around the map and slaughtering things, ignoring my current objective. I think that's a good sign for the core gameplay--that I just want to play the game, regardless of what it is asking me to accomplish.

That's what IGN said in their review too. They found themselves going off the main path just cause they could and that was a good thing.

Yea I think I'll get this and the system Sunday and might as well order halo mmc too just so I can play through the sp campaigns. Haven't played halo since original Xbox. Does it include halo 1-4?

just fyi, the week of november 9th, target is doing a buy 2 get 1 free game. may want to hold off just 1 more week if you can if you wanted to save some cash and get an extra game for free.
