If Sunset Overdrive is repetitive, then every game ever is. I mean, there's obviously going to be repetition in every game, because that's what a genre indicates. I mean, you're basically playing a combination of Ratchet & Clank, Dead Rising, and Tony Hawk. I find myself frequently traversing the map for no reason. I'll just see groups of enemies and take them out, just because.

Seriously, what do you think is NOT repetitive? That's the LAST word I would use to describe this game.

Yea I'm not sure some people are just very very picky gamers. There isn't one title I have played that I can't say was repetitive. Maybe shenmue...because it was the first of its kind. Man I wish they would make a third one.

FH2 is all I ever play on my XB1, I feel it's kind of a waste having the console, I also have a year of EA Access so I got BF4, FIFA 14, Madden 25 and PvZ and FIFA 14 is the one I play occasionally (got it on PS4 as well and play it there more often). Never been a fan of Halo series, so I'm not sure if I'll bother with MCC.

already pre ordered GTA5 and PES 2015 for PS4.

There are some games that has grat replay value, and then there are some that don't (and are repetitive like you said). Not all games are equally as repetitive, but I can easily see Sunset Overdrive being repetitive just like Knack is but games like GTA has a lot of replay value and almost never is repetitive.

That is every single player game for me, I know people who replay games numerous times. Same with movies and tv shows, once and I am done.

Not with games like Saints Row and GTA and some RPG's, replay them and get different results oftentimes.

I generally agree that it's a waste to buy a console for one game. However, given that you can only play one game at a time, does it matter which one you're playing, as long as you enjoy it? I mean, if you're enjoying FH2 while you play it, then I guess the console is doing what it's supposed to, right? As long as something else of interest is out by the time you finish/tire of that game, I think you're doing just fine.

I guess it's all preference. I feel like GTA doesn't have enough replay value for a first playthrough--I've hated that franchise for some time now. To me, most replay value comes in having online multiplayer, so the experience is different each time. Linear storylines are hard for me to replay (I can do it years later for some), because the lack of surprise/intrigue with what's going on will bore me.

GTA is repetitive as well. Every game is. The difference is that some games have enough different repetitive missions that the game still feels interesting. Take Watch Dogs for example. Hacking the security cameras of the houses is repetitive and tedious but each scene is different and funny enough that I wanted to see them all. GTA has a lot of that and it seems like SO does as well.

It all depends on what you want to play and what you are used to. I feel like even if I'm not a huge halo fan I still will enjoy playing through all 4 of them since I've only played the original since the old days. Forza 2 will be fun to have because from what I read people enjoy it. I hope to get some use out of the Xbox one at some point but the dlna features will help with that. Still have a bunch of ps4 games i also have to finish.

If they offer a 50% trade value for gta v I'll trade in the ps3 version of it for ps4. I could go through it again since I can do the heists differently and it has been a while since I played it.

I tried getting the bundle today and my best buy only has the AC bundles in extra quantities. Good thing the deal is for a while. I'll have to wait to trade in my ps3 when one comes available at the store. All best buys I checked don't have it so I'll wait.

Every game is repetitive to an extent, you are correct. This game just looks a little more repetitive than other open-world games like GTA or even Saints Row. I see Sunset Overdrive more like a Crackdown - it's an open world game but has you locked into a certain situation. GTA has more diverse situations and things that you can get lost doing.

They shouldn't have that bundle yet. The game doesn't release until the 11th.

Yea its odd the AC bundle says pick up in store and I called they told me they had 10 of them. Looking at the specifics they are download codes that you can use to download black flag and pre load unity.

I just want the SO bundle but every best buy within 15 miles is out of it. Although I think their online system for inventory sucks because sometimes it appears available far away from me but then nothing the next time I check.

Yeah, I was trying to figure out a good Christmas gift for my brother, and I figured that a XBOX One with Assassin's Creed would be interesting. Although, when I saw that it was out now, but AC5 wasn't, I noticed that they were download codes. I kind of cringe at giving someone a gift and then requiring them to download 50GB + 22GB.

Although, Sunset Overdrive is also a download. :\ I don't know if I'd rather just wait to see if there will be any interesting Sony deals, but $350 with a game (or two) is going to be hard to beat.

Got the SO bundle today. Like the white system... but this download thing is really bad.

This instant play download feature really needs to be re-worked. In the case of SO, it downloaded maybe 35% and told me I could play!

So I start the game and then it tells me it has to install... sit there for a while. Yay, something installed.

I got to play the "intro" portion of the game (which I thought was pretty dang good) and I wanted to play more! Nope... the intro ends (5 mins of gameplay maybe) and then I get to ANOTHER installing screen. This time, it never ended. Got tired of waiting so I just turned the system off.

Pretty bad implementation IMO. This all digital stuff is really painful if you want to start playing any time remotely close after buying the game. The physical game I bought Shadow of Mordor at least installed really fast.

Yea I'm tired of AC games and I had black flag on ps4, played it a lot, and ended up not finishing it then traded it in. I'll just hope that one of the stores has the SO bundle sometime soon but I'm in no hurry as the deal lasts about 2 months.

To be fair, you'll probably find that most implementations aren't that great. You really have to plan out the download order, so the user has the necessary files in place to do what they need. It's probably a bit easier for a game when the user is just starting out, but when you can't? That must be hard. I'm curious how Blizzard does it as all of their games have three download states.

I think Assassin's Creed is alright for me, because I used to be a MMO player. AC can be good for the obsessive compulsive, because you'll try to get everything. Heck... I never finished AC: Brotherhood as I didn't feel like playing it anymore after I got all the hidden things.

I actually bought Sunset Overdrive along with a Gamer's Club Unlocked thing on Friday. The 20% off was rather nice when you consider that it also counts toward collector's editions. If only it counted toward consoles. :p Anyway, I haven't had a chance to play the game yet as I've been messing with some PC stuff.

If it is a digital download for a themed console set instead of a packed-in disc, why wouldn't Microsoft simply load the game on the hard drive and make an Xbox Live registration process part of "enabling" the pre-loaded game?

I think it's certainly possible, but I'm not sure if the extra effort is really worth it for them. A lot of it depends on how Microsoft (or rather, Foxconn) manufactures the consoles as Microsoft would want to continue to manufacture them in the least-specific segmenting possible. Now, the Assassin's Creed bundle is the worst for them, because the console is the exact same as the others. With the Call of Duty and Sunset Overdrive bundles, the console has a different shell, so part of the build process is different.

If I had to guess, Microsoft sets up the built-in hard drives using drive images, which could effectively trivialize the process. They know how many bundles they want to create, so they simply flash that many hard drives.
