Very nice; the soft focus effect makes it seem other-worldly. Did you by chance use a large radius USM or other local contrast enhancing technique?

I would rely on the picture to tell the story and to lay off the Photoshop. Digitally altering the picture takes away its integrity, IMO.

I do respect your position, but I feel differently. I love photoshop.
