I have that PEP66t/Sunon fan combo. It's great! Broke out of the 888MHz barrier and moved on to 915MHz on my P3/750E with my MSI slotket/Soyo 6BA+4 board. If I were you, I would buy two now; what you know as a quiet fan (Sanyo) and an agressive fan (TS). My guess is the Sunon is in between.
With mine, I did some mods because my midtower has the ps hanging down the side blocking the pep fan. I have to turn the pep 90 degrees with the fins going vertical. Because of that I had to file the hs some and build my own shroud for the hs and build it tall enough to bring the Sunon fan about one inch to the top of the case where I made a blow hole 3/8 inch larger in diameter than the Sunon itself and fired it up. What a hell of a racket!!!!It sounded like a blow torch!!!!
Well, there came my water hose to the rescue. I cut a piece to go around that blow hole. I sliced one side of the hose lenght wise and made short cuts across that cut, cutting every quarter of an inch or so. I then slipped it around the opening of the blow hole. It actually made the blow hole look much prettier. And what a difference!!!!Now it just sounds like a ps fan. I tried putting a 50x10 fan on my video card and that fan just about drown the Sunon. Why would a Rage Fury Pro need a fan anyway.
Temps:
MBM4 corrected using the Theoretical Power Dissipation Ratio (I had to make +5 degrees compensation).
CPUBurn3 = 37C, Room temp 21C
3dMark 2000 = 34C, Room temp 21C
Idle,including web browsing,etc = 32C, Room temp 22C.
I've noticed that my cpu will go up one degree for every degree my room temp goes up. I also disable my Heat/AC when I do temp readings.
BTW, the gap between the fan and the blow hole (where you can look in and see the guts of your computer) creats a venturi effect,sucking the air around that area. I blew some cigarrete smoke through a straw just to see the air flow and there are some major suction going on there. I only have the ps (Antec 303 W/ Smart Fan) and the cpu fan (Sunon) in my computer.
