Sunburn itches so bad....

I got sun burned on my legs pretty bad a couple days ago and now they're starting to heal and itch like crazy! Feels like needles sticking in them and I can't sleep.

Anything I can put on them? I've been putting aloe burn stuff, but that actually makes them start to itch worse!

Later post from me:
I was using this for the sunburn, but now everytime I keep putting it on my legs start itching horribly. It has aloe and everything... also I did take a shower with soap.

Try Noxema. It was originally created for eczema (hence the name...nox-e-ma...nox-ec-zema). Maybe that will stop the itching.

Aloe plant best thing in the world, not the stuff you buy at the store real 100% aloe from the plant. Use that in Florida and works wonders

aloe, is THE most soothing sensation you will ever feel. It helped me SOO much when i had chicken pox, i must've went through at least 5 bottles of it 😛

Never shower with soap after you've been baking in the sun. I learned the hard way two summers ago when my chest started feeling the sensations you described.

Moisturizer with aloe vera will help A LOT. I spent that night rubbing that stuff on my chest for 10 minutes before passing out the moment the pain stopped.

EDIT: On a further note, after you've been baking in the sun, DO NOT USE SOAP ON YOUR BODY. The soap will wash away any oil your body produced to protect the tiny cracks in your skin and will cause the said pain.

Lesson learned, don't sweat it.

The stuff you're rubbing on right now contains menthol.
IIRC, menthol is a key ingredient in relieving mouth/throat irritation. Now imagine that stuff seeping into the cracks of damaged skin on your body. Discontinue use and look for moisturizer with aloe vera. Reapply a bit every minute or so and don't give into the pain. I guarantee you once the pain stops you'll have the best night of rest you've had in a while.

Lanacane works for me, but it wears off very quickly. You may need to be reapplying every hour or so.

Nice name... fits in right with my thread. 🙂 I was using that Solarcaine stuff like every 1/2 hour or less 'cause it itched/hurt so bad.

I'm now trying the Hawaiian Tropic Lotion.
