Yea, that is pretty ugly. Looks like something from a 70's sci-fi film. Other people have just hotglued acrylic together in a box and made that their duct. But honestly, I don't see ducts being a big thing in cooling, it might get you 1-2C cooler from your original fan because of the lack of a "dead zone" but that's it.

you need two fans for those ducts, else loss of cfm from the turns and ridges /distance through tube.

I thought it looked cheap and ugly as well. I'd rather sink my money into liquid cooling.

Actually, that piece of duct costs $4 at wal-mart, then with the kit you also get the adapters and the PSU discharge duct. Not a bad deal for $15....

yea looked at home depot.. laundry dryer ducts. 4" diameter or 3" diamter 2.4meters worth costs 8 bucks. you can't buy less. so there goes your "make it for $5" bit.

thats not factoring a nice way to mount it either:p dunno where you'd buy nice plastic mouts that would work. just have touse glue or tape:p

i don't mind because the case i'm using it for has no window. and i might duct two fans into one tube for cpu cooling. gotta cut a Y adaptor.
