I see a lot of adapters online for ~$30, but a lot have warnings about frequencies. Can someone explain to me what exactly I need to consider if I want to hook up one of those monitors to my PC? I'd prefer to stick with windows, so XF86 mode lines aren't useful ;).

Ive never seen any warnings about frequencies. Personally, Id check out ebay and see if you can find a cheap sun monitor. I got a 17" for like $60 (inc shipping).

I can get two working 19" SGI monitors (GDM-20D11) for free. I'll take one if i can get it connected and working.

Is that a VGA connection or the other one (which I forget the name of...)?

13W3? thtas what it is. I have decided against taking them. If someone wants to buy one, it will cost you shipping, plus $20 for me to carry accross campus (heavy ;)), plus however much proper packaging costs :D
