SUN products,do U know anything about them?

i have a SUN cpu/mobo i recieved via trade.there are a ton of pn and sn's on the board and the cpu hs says celestica 2mb.
on the pcb the board says panther.
it has 8xsdram slots
2xonboard scsi
2xide
etc.
where would i go to figure out exactly what i have?
any links would be appreciated!:)

Sun uses a lot of proprietary hardware, especially in older systems. Chances are you would probably need to buy proprietary stuff for whatever you have.

Go to www.sun.com for more info and just search for keywords like celestica, panther, etc.

yeah I do!!! I use a SUN Ultrasparc pc with a celeron PCI card almost every day. It uses solaris 8 as well although I wish it used linux on it instead.

I believe that's an UltraIIi board, and if so it should have 168 pin DIMM slots, but EDO RAM rather than SDRAM.

2 x IDE and 2 x SCSI on a Sun board sounds wierd too, they usually have SCSI only, cept in some of their low end stuff, such as the Ultra5/10 and Blade 100/150's.
Sounds like kind of a frankenmobo.

Any chance you could get a picture?
