Sun Microsystems monitors

Do sun machines require sun monitors? I am thinking of picking up an UltraSPARC 5 sans monitor. Will I have to purchase a Sun monitor?

I think you can buy an adapter, but no, a normal monitor won't work out of the box with a Ultra 5

That would be a 13W3-to-VGA adapter. Depending on which frame buffer / video adapter is installed, you may not need the adapter. Check with the seller to see which kind of video connector is on the box.
