Ever since they settled the Java mess, it's damn near impossible to download java from Sun servers - is this some kind of conspiracy against IE users???? I've tried on 3 diff. machines and no go from the SUN servers. :(

I don't know, but all the java versions that I need to use on a regular basis are a giant pain in my ass. HP Webjet Admin requires some random version, anything newer and it refuses to run. I had to install a newer version for some other lame application and boom the other app doesnt work. I've never seen a bigger headache.

And this is coming from our MS fanboi. I'd tend to agree. Sounds like error lies between the monitor and keyboard.

There are two (at least) S sites you can download it from. It's harder to find it on sun.com becasuse there are the dev. kits mixed in. The consumer site is java.com, big links and lots of color, can't miss it.

hmm, how about a conspiracy by your ISP & Microsoft to consistantly provide you with a lousy connection?

yes OP implied that Microsoft was somehow doing something wrong. His quote was more in protection of MS than SUN ;).
