That is relevant to US policy how? It is my understanding that while still a very dangerous and poor country, the overthrow of the Taliban caused significant problems for alQueda and was a good short term plan. The tactics used in the Tora Bora area when UBL wal cought there on the other hand were a failure.

Afghan not bad...

Failing democratic government that controls a very small part of the country, a return to being the #1 opiate exporter of the world, little done to help the poverty or women's rights, the 'bad guys' doing just fine and even the Taliban returning to power, and Osama bin Laden not captured when he could have been easily.
