Rather than waste your money on "gas grill" get yourself a nice Cast Iron griddle for your Gas stove.
That or get a nice Weber Charcoal grill/Kettle.
I have to agree and disagree with that, my first grill was a Weber kettle and yes, cooking over real wood does impart a flavor component missing with a gas grill, BUT..if you grill frequently it's hard to beat the convenience of GG, I have a basic model Weber and it does a decent job, the "flavorizer" bars get hot and meat drippings hit them and create a good flavor (though not as good as charcoal). It's also much cheaper to use propane vs charcoal, that may or may not be a factor depending on one's budget. What I wound up doing was before I got my GG I had another GG made by Vermont castings with very thick gauge aluminum, since they no longer sold parts for it I converted it to a charcoal grill mounted on a piece of 4" diameter galvanized electric conduit, buried the other end in the ground 3' deep, filled it with quick-crete and it's now a permanent charcoal grill. If I've got a nice steak it gets cooked on that, if I'm just gonna cook a few burgers or dogs I use the Weber GG..
