Summer Vacation ? Where can I get to *cheap* ?

I would like to take a trip in early July, for 1 - 2 weeks.

I live in Memphis, TN.

Can anyone offer some good suggestions on a place to go ?

I would like to make this a cheap trip....if I fly, I don't want to spend more than 400$ on a ticket.

I would like to spend, no more than 50$ a night for my lodging.

Any suggestions ?

camping. isn't one of the national state parks near you? all you'll have to spring for is the park fee and maybe a camping fee and food.

1. Backyard
2. Frontyard
3. Empty lot across the street from you
4. Attic

My Grandfather told my Mom something many years ago, and she passed it down to me when I was a boy:

If you leave the house, you will spend money.

Good luck. 🙂

Unfortunately, the Internet has changed that. I think I spend more money staying home... 😉

check out some of the cruises out of Galveston, TX. 5 nights in Western Caribbean for $279. All the food you can eat too. Not too bad of a drive from TN, about 10 hrs?

I'm taking the 7 day out of Galveston in ONE WEEK!!! I even installed a little countdown timer on my desktop... 9 days, 9 hours, and 27 minutes until I'm officially on vacation! 🙂🙂🙂

Cruises are a good deal right now. It's the shore excursions and shopping that will get you.

Sign up for the mailing lists from the airlines. They send out weekly specials and while it is hit or miss if an area airport will have a special, usually they are good deals. If your summer schedule is flexible, you can find cheap airfare that way.
