If you're going thru South Dakota, try to go to the "Tea Steak House".

It's hard to find, dirt cheap, and you can get filet mignons for next to nothing.

when you are near Iowa, you might want to swing south a bit and see "The World's Largest Cheeto" , i haven't been able to find out its exact location, but i think it is near des moines

LOL!! Actually it's a good 135 miles north of Des Moines, 37 miles from the Minnesota state line.

Yeah that's right. I went there about 10 yrs ago - dunno if it is still the same. If I remember right, they serve your water in cheap plastic cups, HORRIBLE tablecloths, more like a roadside diner than a "Mortons".

But dang if that wasn't the best steak I've had in a long time.

Google search turns up pretty recent results, so I'm guessing it's still there.
