Summer jobs that pay decently well?

I worked at Fed Ex before at a package distribution thing (load and unload packages, etc)
It was a pretty physically involved job (sweaty and tiring) and the hours were early (4-9am) but it paid 11.50++ an hour and didn't ruin my day

I don't know if I'll be able to get that job again, though, this year
I know I can get a job at the movie theater for the summer, but I don't think they will give me the kind of hours I am looking for, so I was wondering if I could find either another job instead or to go with it. Plus, it only pays 7.15/hr

I saw someone asked easlier about working at NetFlix putting discs into envelopes and said it paid over 10/hr. I don't think I would mind that work at all, but would definitely enjoy that extra $3/hr over a minimum wage job

Any ideas of jobs like these I could look in to? (Like less desirable, but pay better (weird hours, weird work, etc))

There's this job that has been around for a really long time that pays EXTREMELY well. Some say it's the oldest profession and most of the time you wouldn't even have to do any work, just lay there.

If you're a female... I hear males have to do more of the "Night at the Roxbury" head bob thing to make that kind of money.

I bet it's a real pain in the butt.

yup, $30/hr! :Q

think of the responsibilities tho.
if you screw up, cars crash.

How about an internship in your field of study? My first paid $13/hour, and my second $29.50. Though you may be a little late in the game for internships at this point.

and lets not forget that the min wage increases this summer.

$7.25 per hour effective July 24, 2009

All through high school I cut lawns around my neighborhood. Professionals charged $50, I would charge $25-30, it would take me an hour, and I ended up making $25-30 an hour, cash, 6-8 hours a week.

Not around here it isn't. You'd be lucky to make $12 per hour. It's a crap job also. You're dealing with dickheads all day, while standing in 1 place, and possibly huffing pavement fumes.

And lots of states require you to be certified to be a flagger.

that's low... MA is 8 for min.

I moved furniture and made really good bank because of all the overtime. 10 bucks an hour, 18 years ago. Plus you'll really get into shape and get really strong quickly.
