working retail gets you customer service points 😉

Working retail teaches you how crappy the rest of the world really is and motivates you to never ever work in retail later on in life.

if you're thinking college apps, working at the local Mickey D's won't help too much

When you are 16 and have little or no experience, it's not a matter of where you want to work, it's a matter of who will hire you.

Beggars can't be choosers. Apply at as many places as you can that you wouldn't mind working. Don't just pick stores and stuff that you think would be cool, pick places that you think would hire you.

The worst they can do is not call you. Ever.
