Okay,

I'm in an interesting fix, as im out to get a summer job before all the college students do this year.

THe problem is that I'm having a hard time finding a job with day hours thats available, it seems like all the places I'm looking at (which hire for the summer) want night time employees,

for example, most restaurants, places like target, etc. will let you work like 20-35 hours a week on night shifts (4-11) or something

so far of all the places I applied to:
3 dairy queens, a target, sportmart, buffalo wild wings, rainbow foods, comp usa, best buy, YMCA, Balleys, (maybe there are some more i dunno)

only 2 of these places are currently looking for employees, the YMCA and one of the dairy queens.

The YMCA unfortunately doesnt think they want me though, since I may not be here next fall (50/50 chance, depends on what college i go to next year)
but they might get some openings in the summer day camp counselars, which I might try to land a job at. (day time job, yay!)

THen theres the other option:

Dairy queen, guaranteed 35 hours a week. The only problem is that they would be mostly night shifts, probably 4 nights and 1 day each week.
The interesting thing though is that besides this 50 year old fat and guy, I would be the only guy working there!
I'm not sure whether to count this as a good or a bad thing.

in either case, this job might go fast,
you think it would be worth scraping up? (the dairy queen one)
I was thinking I could perhaps even keep looking for a day time job, perhaps work 2 part time jobs, and get a lotta hours.

Also, do you guys have any other ideas that i havent checked into, for day time jobs?

If you wanted to beat the college studnets, you are about 2 months too late. At least. Most semester colleges will be letting out within the next 4 weeks, and most students should have already lined up work....

I found it near impossible to avoid night work. I left my cushy job at the Bagel joint b/c they wouldn't guarantee me no night work, and I simply could not work past 6:00 b/c I was involved with a night time activity.

I ended up getting a job in a print shop. They were not open at night, so it was not an issue for them :)
