It didn't seem all that critical in my eyes.

Some things do need tweaked but overall it's a fun game that will only get better.

Firaxis is always great with updates.

Harsh is what they should've heard and listened to during the development phase of Civ 5. ;)

This must be sulla's 2nd game post as the first one he couldn't finish the game due to lack of interest or desire to continue on. :)

I just wish I had half the know how to properly play a civ match [yes..civ 5 is insanely easier than civ 4 - but the sheer # of choices are overwhelming]

Civ 5 looks like one of those games I'd pass on.

I nearly passed on Civ 4 until they released a cheap all in one package which made it playable and enjoyable in parts.

I enjoy Civ V, except that I have 2 save games that I can't finish due to having too many cities or whatever the bug is.

I basically don't think there is any connection with whatever Firaxis produces, and the heart and soul of the Sid Meier games everyone loved so much back in the 80's and 90's. I don't know if he is even involved. After waiting for years for Railroads! and seeing how they so thoroughly mutilated the original idea, I almost hope he isn't.

eh civ4 vanilla was still much better than civ5. civ5 is just unplayable. i had no problem enjoying civ4 and playing countless hours even before any of the expansions hit the scene.

Aw, that's disappointing. I wasn't planning on playing CivV for a while since I'm hung up on SC2 right now.

Maybe by the time I get around to it, there will be expansions that fix these balancing issues. It sounds like there are some pretty severe problems if shit takes 20-30 turns to build in the modern era but techs are only 4 turns. Or if no location is a bad location for a new city. Or how blind, copy-paste expansion wins outright. Or how it's trivial just to money-rush buildings/units and buy up allies. :(

I mean I'll probably buy Civ5 even if the problems Sulla is discussing never get fixed just b/c I've been playing Civ addictively since Civ2 (Civ2, alpha, Civ3, Civ4, loved them all).
