----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SETI@home Installation FAQ
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poof's SETI Driver Help Page
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Get all your help here! First off, thanks to anyone who is switching to SETI. To get an account, just fire up the client, and you can select a new account from there. Then make sure you join TA by going here.
Clients:
GUI - Screensaver client, generally slow, only use if absolutely necessary.
CLI - Best client to use, especially with the other addon programs. Works in 9x/ME/NT/2K. Win95 machines need the Winsock 2 update.
Mac - If you have a Mac.
Mac OS X - GUI client if you run OS X, regular Mac client may be faster.
Other OSes - For those strange people with Linux boxen.
Russ's SETI Driver Setup Disks - Should make it real easy to install SETI Driver.
9x/Me/NT/2K SETI Service Installs - SETI service installs, including Win9x/Me.
LRP Bootable Linux Client - Crack rack time.
Bootable SETI - Another bootable Linux SETI client.
CLI NT/2K Service Install - Another service install.
IsOs's 9x/Me SETI Driver Service Install - Make sure you replace the user_info.sah with yours. Also check the priority setting in SETI Driver.cfg.
IsOs's 2K SETI Driver Service Install - Make sure you replace the user_info.sah with yours. Also check the priority setting in SETI Driver.cfg.
My Service Installs:
CLI and SETI Log NT/2K Service Install - Original files from office boy, I changed them around a bunch.
CPU1, CPU2, CPU3, CPU4 - Here are my SMP capable CLI and SETILog NT/2K service installs. For a two CPU machine, DL CPU1 and CPU2. For a four CPU machine, DL CPU1, CPU2, CPU3, and CPU4. CPU1 is not the same as the single CPU install version, so don't try to substitute that one.
Addons:
SETI Driver - Most popular WU caching addon. Good for a single computer, and also gets the CLI out of the taskbar and into the systray.
SETIQ - Best for LANs and for use as a proxy. Good stats.
SETIGate - Another multiuser proxy, SETIQ is probably better.
SETIStash - Caches WUs.
SETIHide - Hides the client and caches WUs.
SETI Door - Linux WU cacher.
SETILog - Provides logging for the CLI, also can use the /h switch to run the CLI hidden.
SETILog for Linux - Not much to say here.
SETIWatch - Lets you monitor clients, works over a network too.
SETISpy - Everything you ever wanted to know about your WU, and a lot more.
SETI Monitor - Um, monitors SETI.
SETI@Home-Log - Another logger.
SetiTEAM - Save team stats to a spreadsheet.
SETI Launcher - Works with SETI Driver and has it upload and download WUs when a dial-up connection is present.
Stats:
Live Team Stats - Realtime updated CGI page.
Individual - Get your individual stats here.
Orange Kid's - Lot o' stats.
Soni's - More stats.
Smokeball's - Smokeball's daily stats.
Nexus9's - Lot more stats.
Top 25 Teams - Seti@Netherlands stats and graphs for the top 25 teams.
Graphs - Some older SETI graphs, I need to get the new ones done.
Proxies:
Orange Kid's - More WU caching and stats.
Miscellaneous:
SETIQ Guide - More SETIQ help.
SETI Bandwidth - Shows just how much bandwidth we're using.
SETI Timer - Estimation of WU times based on processor.
Seti FAQ - Tons of answers to your questions.
